History & folklore
Blue lace agate was first found in Namibia in the 1960s, making it a young stone in crystal lore. Agates in general have been used as amulets since ancient Babylon and Egypt.

Where it comes from
Blue lace agate comes mainly from Namibia and South Africa, though much of the original mine is exhausted. Very bright blue agate is usually dyed.
Durable. Some is dyed — natural colour is soft and pale.
