How to do it
Choose three qualities you want to offer and welcome in friendship — honesty, warmth, reciprocity — and write them on the envelope. Thread the first bead onto the cord and secure it between two small knots, naming the first quality; repeat with the other beads and qualities. Hold the finished cord between open palms and picture ordinary opportunities for connection — a class, a shared interest, a friendly conversation, an invitation that leaves room for a free answer. Speak the words and place the cord in the envelope.
Afterward
Within a week, take one social step that suits you. Keep the cord for a month, then reflect on whether your actions matched the qualities you named. Do not add a particular person's name as a target.
